The Screaming V starts with great wood - in this case, a bevy of mahogany. A neck made from solid quarter-sawn mahogany and carved in a thin 1960s profile is glued into a solid mahogany body. The fingerboard is another slice of timber, rich chocolate brown rosewood in this instance, and carries 22 medium jumbo frets. Killer looks are assured by a thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish, given an added touch of elegance with cream binding around the body and fingerboard, and vintage gold top hat control knobs. The time-tested dimensions of a 24 3/4 inch scale length, a 1 11/16 inch nut width, and a 12 inch fingerboard radius ensures playability, too.

To truly capture the tonal superiority of the great original Screaming Vs of the late 1950s, this V carries a pair of vintage style humbucking pickups. A 1957 pickup in the neck position delivers warm throaty tones with plenty of clarity, and a slightly hotter number three pickup in the bridge offers searing crunch and soaring lead tones. Two of the most popular humbuckers - both installed uncovered with exposed zebra coil bobbins - these units are made with genuine nickel magnets and wound with 42 AWG wire, just like the legendary pickups of the late 1950s and early 1960s, and offer a blend of richness and clarity that few pickups can match today.
