Pure vintage vibe, red-hot tone.
Shoulder-friendly and incredibly playable, it has the tone that launched a billion riffs.
The SG electric guitar is one of the most popular incarnations of the renowned SG. It takes the best of the 1962 original, and adds the longer and sturdier neck joint of the late 1960s models. All the classic features you would expect from a historic guitar. Hot humbuckers go from rich, sweet lightning to warm, tingling waves of sustain. A silky-fast rosewood fretboard plays like a dream. The original-style beveled mahogany body looks like a million bucks. This guitar includes chrome bridge and chrome hardware.
The 1960s neck profile found on this SG is the more modern, slim-tapered neck most commonly associated with the LP and SG models of the early 1960s. The neck is machined in the manufacturer's rough mill using wood shapers to make the initial cuts. But once the fingerboard gets glued on, the rest, including the final sandin, is done by hand. That means there are no two necks with the exact same dimensions.
So while it still has the basic characteristics of its respective profile, each neck will be slightly different, with a distinct but traditional feel.
